From January 2026, sellers gain access to 8,000-plus 24/7 lockers and thousands of Yodel drop-off points across the UK
By ChannelMAX Staff Writer
Private sellers on eBay are set to benefit from a major delivery upgrade as the platform expands its Simple Delivery service to include InPost lockers across the UK. The move is aimed at making shipping faster, simpler and more flexible, especially for casual and small-scale sellers who want convenient drop-off options without the hassle of printing labels or waiting for courier collections.
What is changing for private sellers
Under the latest update, private sellers using eBay Simple Delivery will be able to drop parcels at more than 8,000 InPost lockers nationwide, many of which are accessible 24 hours a day. In addition, sellers will gain access to thousands of Yodel stores that are part of the InPost network, significantly widening the number of available drop-off locations.
Buyers will start seeing InPost as a delivery option from January 2026. Importantly, InPost will be enabled by default, meaning sellers do not need to take any action for the option to appear on their listings.

How Simple Delivery works
As explained by eBay in its official communication, “Simple Delivery is eBay’s all-in-one delivery solution, providing sellers with an easier and faster listing experience.”
The system automatically suggests delivery options based on similar items and seller preferences. Once an item sells, sellers receive a prepaid label and a QR code, which can be scanned at the drop-off point for printer-free shipping. Tracking is included automatically, helping sellers receive payments faster while ensuring items are protected against loss or damage in transit.
Key benefits of adding InPost
The integration of InPost into Simple Delivery brings several advantages for private sellers and buyers alike:
* Over 8,000 parcel lockers and shops, many available 24/7
* Printer-free shipping using QR code scanning
* Access to thousands of Yodel stores through the InPost network
* Competitive delivery rates for both sellers and buyers
* Automatic tracking and protection for items in transit
Best use cases and pricing sweet spots
According to eBay, InPost performs particularly well in the 1–2 kg medium parcel category, where it offers strong value compared with other couriers. However, the platform advises sellers to keep all couriers enabled rather than limiting choices.
By allowing multiple courier options, sellers can access the most competitive rates across different parcel sizes while appealing to a wider pool of buyers who may prefer specific delivery methods.
Opt-out option remains available
While InPost will be switched on by default, sellers who prefer not to use the service can opt out at any time via their Postage Preferences. eBay, however, recommends keeping all delivery partners enabled to maximise reach and pricing competitiveness.
The addition of InPost to eBay Simple Delivery marks a practical upgrade for private sellers, particularly those seeking convenience and flexibility. With thousands of locker and store locations, printer-free shipping and competitive rates, the update reduces friction in the selling process. As buyer expectations for fast and flexible delivery continue to rise, this move positions private sellers to compete more effectively while keeping shipping simple and cost-efficient.
